Pentax was among selected Consultancy firms invited to contribute to an inter-regional workshop held in February 2006 by Maputo Mozambique by the African Local Governance programme (ALGP) to advance the Inter-Regional workshop on Building Competencies/Capacities to localize MDGs (Gender, HIV and Malaria) and plan subsequent participation in the three 2006 Global conferences. International Centre for Municipal Development (ICMD) and Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) were partners of ALGP. In addition to Mozambique, Pentax was invited to three countries for contribution to ALGP’s agenda on effective and sustainable ways of mobilizing local governments for communal and national development. Pentax organized and facilitated Training and Capacity Building services in Monitoring and Reporting for nine (9) Implementing Entities (IEs) of Millennium Development Authority (MiDA). The key objective of the assignment was to provide Training and Technical Assistance (TA) services in Monitoring and Reporting (M&R) and Data Management to nine (9) Implementing Entities of MiDA (2009-2010).
Pentax facilitated the Improvement of Credit Services for On-Farm and Value-chain Investments training workshop organised to create awareness and sensitise staff of Farmer Based Organisation (FBOs) and Financial Non-Governmental Organisations (FNGOs) under Millennium Development Authority’s (MiDA)Agricultural Credit Programme (ACP) of Ghana (2008 – 2010).
Capacity Development of Government Administration in the Thematic Area of Leadership. Pentax was contracted to assist in the training of the middle leadership of the Civil service under the project entitled “Capacity Development of Government Administration”. Pentax developed questionnaires executing a baseline survey on leadership knowledge, skills, attitudes etc., for middle level staff of the Ghana Civil Service, conducted a Pilot Survey of selected OHSC staff to solicit inputs and valuable information from the OHSC staff as to the status quo and their challenges, expectations and objectives, developed customized training modules for the training of middle level leadership of the OHSC and conducted Training of Trainers workshops for the middle level staff of OHSC. Pentax facilitated an International workshop for the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA)on its proposed development of “Right To Play” (RTP) held in Accra, Ghana in (2006).
Pentax was the Consultant that facilitated a workshop for CIDA staff on a retreat with the broad objectives of providing an opportunity to strengthen the Ghana Team for CIDA and to strengthen team-building among staff in pursuit of CIDA Ghana program goals in 2006.
Ecobank Transnational Inc has become a significant player in the banking subsector in West Africa. The Bank has transformed its operations from Merchant Banking to Universal and Wholesale banking. To assist the Bank to achieve its goals, Ecobank hired Pentax to Design and Develop Customized Modules on Project Management and train selected Managers and Supervisors of the Bank across West Africa held in Abuja, Nigeria. Training of Trainers Workshop for ECOBANK Transnational Incorporated (ETI) in Ghana. The assignment involved the Organization of a workshop on “Training of Trainers” to train selected heads of Customer Service Departments and of branches from fourteen (14) African countries. Pentax conducted a detailed analysis of the Bank’s Needs and Goals, Developed Appropriate and Customized Manuals for “Customer Services” And “Handling Customer Complaints” and trained the Heads of Departments from the bank and equipped the Trainers with Facilitation/Andragogy Skills to further train their staff. The President’s Special Initiative (PSI)in Ghana has the objective of poverty reduction through a number of practical strategies including increasing the efficiency of the staff of Government employees to facilitate effective and timely delivery of services towards program objective. To this end, Pentax was hired by the Ministry of Trade & Industry to facilitate a workshop for Chief Directors & Regional Coordinating Directors of Ghana at Greenland Hotel, Agona Swedru on Effective Leadership and Management practices. Training on Marketing Appreciation and Relationship Banking for Projects officers and Accountants of the Rural and community Banks under the World Bank, IFAD, AfDB Rural Financial Services Project (RFSP), 2004. Pentax was contracted to build capacity in Marketing Appreciation and Relationship Banking for Board of Directors and Managers of Rural and Community Banks. The services provided by Pentax under the programme included Manual Development and Training delivery in all the ten regions for all the Rural and Community Banks.
Pentax was contracted by the Department of Feeder Roads (DFR), Ghana to undertake a training programme for the Department’s Senior Management and Selected Middle Management Staff. The programme was on “Activity-Based Management Practices”for the purpose of enhancing management’s effectiveness and efficiency towards achieving objectives of the DFR, namely, to improve and expand feeder roads in Ghana in order to accelerate socio-economic development as part of the efforts towards poverty reduction using outdoor and outbound Adult Training techniques at Little Acre Hotel, Aburi, Ghana in (2003).
Pentax Provided Consultancy Services under the Village Infrastructure Project (VIP)for the Training of Groups and Associations in Group Dynamics. The programme was funded by the World Bank for the period (2002 – 2003).
Pentax delivered a paper on the Principles of Management for Entrepreneurs Ghana under a “Practitioners Forum on Entrepreneurship”organized by Ghana Institute of Management & Public Administration (GIMPA), Accra, Ghana. The forum was attended by key members and stakeholders as well as management practitioners and Consultants in Ghana and outside. (2001).
