The role of Pentax in project-implementation included the recruitment and management of National experts and support staff as well as, both long and short term experts, quality Assurance Services for SPEED II and Technical Backstopping.
Technical Assistance for the Monitoring of Regional Indicative Programme (RIP) in West Africa. 9th EDF. The mandate of Pentax under the RIP included the Provision of administrative assistance, backstopping and such other technical and non-technical assistance as may be necessary for the RIP, provision of backstopping personnel in Nigeria or any other ECOWAS state for special events such as workshop moderation and development of management and financial information systems as may be required by the program and provision of support to complement project-wide activities such as staff training and development; quality assurance; IT systems development; services design; project strategies such as marketing, promotion and Internationalisation. Questionnaire Survey on Study, Promotion and Development of Local Industries in Ghana– A survey of Business Development Services (BDS), Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Farmers Associations and Shea butter processing groups in Greater Accra, Ashanti, Central and Northern Regions of Ghana. Pentax carried out a survey on existing BDS markets and actors to identify local mechanisms of BDS service delivery. For each region, the survey focused on a selected industrial sub-sector following: Garment in the Greater Accra Region; Palm-Oil in the Ashanti Region; Citrus & Pineapple Processing in the Central Region; and Shea Butter in the Northern Region, prepared and compiled relevant data concerning the appropriate industry and the sub-sectors selected for the four regions in relation to matters affecting production, consumption and exports of the said regions and identified local institutions and provided baseline data for future programming, design and evaluation of Business Development Services (BDS), interventions in the said four regions. Pentax was responsible for the recruitment and management of national staff, both long and short term experts and support staff, quality Assurance Scheme for SPEED and Technical Backstopping including discussions and decisions on the design and contents of M&E systems and Evaluation and Reporting on programme implementation outcomes and making recommendations for improvement as required. (2004 -2006)
An Independent Nationwide Survey on the Cheque Clearing Cycle in Ghana for the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning funded by the World Bank. Pentax developed appropriate questionnaires, recruited and trained field staff for the survey and post-survey follow up, arranged for meetings with and conducted detailed surveys, collated and analysed the data and prepared and submitted a Final Report to the Client.
