Pentax conducted Training Needs Assessment of staff of GCB Bank Limited as part of the assigned tasks which included development of training manuals and delivery of training on the theme “Positive Attitude and “Can Do” Mindset and “Sustaining Growth for Market Leadership” for all the Management and Staff of GCB Bank Limited countrywide. (2016 – 2017)

Pentax conducted Training Needs Assessment of staff of National Investment Bank Limited (NIB) as part of the assignment tasks which included development of manuals and delivery of training on the theme “Target Setting and Measurement and Effective Supervisory Skills” for the Supervisory to Middle level Management team of the Bank countrywide. Pentax was contracted as the Local Bank Training Service Provider in PFI Training / Capacity Building Component of the Agricultural Credit Programme (ACP) of Millennium Development Authority, Ghana. The firm assessed the Training Needs of Financial services providers including Traditional Commercial Banks (TCBs), Rural Banks (RBs), Financial Non-Governmental Organisations (FNGOs) and Savings and Loans Companies (S&Ls), Recruited and Selected Experienced Technical Service Providers for Training of Trainers (ToT) in the Development of Agricultural Credit Training Manuals, built Capacity of identified PFI Credit and Project staff in Agricultural lending. (2009-2011)

Capacity Building and Technical Assistance in Monitoring and Reporting of Implementing Entities (IEs) of Millennium Development Authority (MiDA). Pentax conducted Institutional Capacity Needs Assessment of participating Implementing Entities, designed and delivered training programme, provided training in Monitoring and Reporting; and Data Management to MiDA Implementing Entities (IEs) and undertook data capture, data processing, data management and reporting. Pentax conducted an Institutional Assessment and Identification of Capacity Building needs of seven (7) Microfinance Institutions funded by UNDP. (2004-2005)

Facilitating Agency of Rural Financial Services Project (RFSP I & II) spanning six years. Pentax developed a framework for screening of Training Service Providers (TSPs) and a training plan detailing Core and General training programs with regards to the training needs assessment, provided technical advisory services and managed the seventy (70) Consultancy Firms and NGOs serving as the Training Providers to Self-Help groups, community-based organizations, Credit Unions, Susu and Co-operative Associations countrywide, facilitated the efficient training of the Rural Microfinance Institutions (RMFI) and supported the Institutional Capacity Building initiatives of Rural Microfinance Apex Institutions. (2002-2008)

Under the Capacity Building Project of the DANIDA Support for District Assemblies Phase II (DSDA II), Pentax assessed the institutional capacities and training needs of the 17 District assemblies; developed appropriate modules for the 17 Assemblies and trained and provided them with customized tools for enhancing their capacities for effectiveness and efficiency. Pentax undertook the Executive Search for the topmost position; Managing Director Position of the GCB Bank Limited. Pentax identified, shortlisted and interviewed candidates and submitted five (5) best candidates for the Managing Director position for the final interview and selection of the Candidate by the Board. Pentax provided Consultancy services for the Institutional Review, Re-design of Corporate Organogram, and Development of Job Descriptions including the newly created Chief Operating Office for the Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL). Pentax was contracted to Manage Delivery of Training to Rural Entrepreneurs under the Rural Enterprises Programme (REP). Pentax facilitated the crafting of 20 Technical and 10 Managerial Standardized Manuals for the Training of Medium Small Enterprises (MSEs) and Local Business Associations (LBAs). Pentax also developed Operational Manuals and Related Documents to Guide Capacity Building of Medium Small Enterprises (MSEs) and Local Business Associations (LBAs) countrywide.. (2015-2016)

Capacity Building Fund Manager under the Rural and Agricultural Finance Programme (RAFiP) funded by IFAD and Government of Ghana, Pentax developed Operational Manual for implementation of Capacity Building Fund and provided Technical Assistance for the development of standardized Technical and Managerial manuals for the Microfinance sub-sector. (2011-2016)

Pentax was contracted as the Local Bank Training Service Provider in PFI Training / Capacity Building Component of the Agricultural Credit Programme (ACP) of Millennium Development Authority, Ghana. The firm developed Agricultural Credit Training Manuals covering Delinquency management, Agricultural value-chain financing, Loan structuring and restructuring, Loan documentation, Basic asset and liability management (2009-2011)

Pentax prepared a Training Manual on Institutional Sustainability within a Multi-Stakeholder Environment for the WASH Alliance for participants drawn from Ghana, Mali and Benin (2010).

Training Management and Evaluation Services for all Rural and Community Banks in Ghana funded by ESSA/ DANIDA. The assignment was to undertake Manuals Development on Review of Business Plans, Analysis of Financial Statements and Corporate Strategic Planning, organization of a Training of Trainers programme on Corporate Strategic Planning as well as supervision, monitoring and evaluation of the programme throughout the country for all 110 Rural and Community Banks. Pentax developed Rural Bank focused Credit Management, reviewed Business Plans, Analysis of Financial Statements and Corporate/Strategic Planning manuals, developed Trainers and Trainees Manuals and organized a Training of Trainers programme on Corporate/Strategic Planning and supervised and monitored the programme throughout the country for all the 110 Rural and Community Banks. Pentax facilitated a two-day workshop for the Executive Committee of the Association for Educational Assessment in Africa (AEAA) towards the development of their (2016-2020) Medium-term Strategic Business Plan. (2015)

Pentax was among selected Consultancy firms invited to contribute to an inter-regional workshop held in February 2006 by Maputo Mozambique by the African Local Governance programme (ALGP) to advance the Inter-Regional workshop on Building Competencies/Capacities to localize MDGs (Gender, HIV and Malaria) and plan subsequent participation in the three 2006 Global conferences.  International Centre for Municipal Development (ICMD) and Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) were partners of ALGP. In addition to Mozambique, Pentax was invited to three countries for contribution to ALGP’s agenda on effective and sustainable ways of mobilizing local governments for communal and national development. Pentax has also delivered paper on “Evolving Bankable Municipalities and their organisation in Africa” through Local Economic Development in Benoni, South Africa (2006). Pentax was among eight (8) International consultants asked by the United Cities and Local Governments of Africa (UCLGA) and the Municipal Development Partnership (MDP) to deliver a paper at a maiden launch of UCLGA attended by about 5,000 delegates including Central Governments, Local Authorities, Traditional Rulers, Slum Dwellers, Youth, Women Organizations, Media, Business sector, the Unions and Development Partner representatives in Tshwane, South Africa. (2004)

Organized and facilitated a two-day retreat for the Administrative Staff of the Regional office for Africa (RAF), Sub Regional Office for West and the Ghana Country Office of FAO with the broad objective of strengthening their capacity in Results-based Management, Effective Communication Skills and Change Management as well as develop a Road Map for delivering more effective support services to clients and stakeholders. Pentax delivered a paper on “Optimising Local Economic Development through Decentralization” at the National Stakeholders Conference on Decentralization in Accra, Ghana. (2010).

Pentax organized and facilitated Training and Capacity Building services in Monitoring and Reporting for nine (9) Implementing Entities (IEs) of Millennium Development Authority (MiDA). The key objective of the assignment was to provide Training and Technical Assistance (TA) services in Monitoring and Reporting (M&R) and Data Management to nine (9) Implementing Entities of MiDA (2009-2010).

Pentax facilitated the Improvement of Credit Services for On-Farm and Value-chain Investments training workshop organised to create awareness and sensitise staff of Farmer Based Organisation (FBOs) and Financial Non-Governmental Organisations (FNGOs) under Millennium Development Authority’s (MiDA)Agricultural Credit Programme (ACP) of Ghana (2008 – 2010).

Capacity Development of Government Administration in the Thematic Area of Leadership. Pentax was contracted to assist in the training of the middle leadership of the Civil service under the project entitled “Capacity Development of Government Administration”. Pentax developed questionnaires executing a baseline survey on leadership knowledge, skills, attitudes etc., for middle level staff of the Ghana Civil Service, conducted a Pilot Survey of selected OHSC staff to solicit inputs and valuable information from the OHSC staff as to the status quo and their challenges, expectations and objectives, developed customized training modules for the training of middle level leadership of the OHSC and conducted Training of Trainers workshops for the middle level staff of OHSC. Training of Trainers Workshop for Managers of Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (The Group). The assignment was to organize a workshop on “Training of Trainers” for selected Managers for Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (The Group). Pentax developed trainees manuals and organised workshop for staff of the bank. (2007)

Pentax facilitated an International workshop for the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA)on its proposed development of “Right To Play” (RTP) held in Accra, Ghana in (2006).

Pentax was the Consultant that facilitated a workshop for CIDA staff on a retreat with the broad objectives of providing an opportunity to strengthen the Ghana Team for CIDA and to strengthen team-building among staff in pursuit of CIDA Ghana program goals in 2006.

Ecobank Transnational Inc has become a significant player in the banking subsector in West Africa. The Bank has transformed its operations from Merchant Banking to Universal and Wholesale banking. To assist the Bank to achieve its goals, Ecobank hired Pentax to Design and Develop Customized Modules on Project Management and train selected Managers and Supervisors of the Bank across West Africa held in Abuja, Nigeria. Training of Trainers Workshop for ECOBANK Transnational Incorporated (ETI) in Ghana. The assignment involved the Organization of a workshop on “Training of Trainers” to train selected heads of Customer Service Departments and of branches from fourteen (14) African countries. Pentax conducted a detailed analysis of the Bank’s Needs and Goals, Developed Appropriate and Customized Manuals for “Customer Services” And “Handling Customer Complaints” and trained the Heads of Departments from the bank and equipped the Trainers with Facilitation/Andragogy Skills to further train their staff. The President’s Special Initiative (PSI)in Ghana has the objective of poverty reduction through a number of practical strategies including increasing the efficiency of the staff of Government employees to facilitate effective and timely delivery of services towards program objective.  To this end, Pentax was hired by the Ministry of Trade & Industry to facilitate a workshop for Chief Directors & Regional Coordinating Directors of Ghana at Greenland Hotel, Agona Swedru on Effective Leadership and Management practices. (2005)

As part of continuing measures to significantly improve upon economic growth in Ghana, Pentax was contracted by DFID to facilitate the workshop attended by high ranking Ministers of State, key Policy Makers and Developing Partners Representatives on the theme “How Can Ghana Achieve Growth and Prosperity?” (2005)

Training on Marketing Appreciation and Relationship Banking for Projects officers and Accountants of the Rural and community Banks under the World Bank, IFAD, AfDB Rural Financial Services Project (RFSP), 2004. Pentax was contracted to build capacity in Marketing Appreciation and Relationship Banking for Board of Directors and Managers of Rural and Community Banks. The services provided by Pentax under the programme included Manual Development and Training delivery in all the ten regions for all the Rural and Community Banks.

Pentax was contracted by the Department of Feeder Roads (DFR), Ghana to undertake a training programme for the Department’s Senior Management and Selected Middle Management Staff. The programme was on “Activity-Based Management Practices”for the purpose of enhancing management’s effectiveness and efficiency towards achieving objectives of the DFR, namely, to improve and expand feeder roads in Ghana in order to accelerate socio-economic development as part of the efforts towards poverty reduction using outdoor and outbound Adult Training techniques at Little Acre Hotel, Aburi, Ghana in (2003).

Pentax Provided Consultancy Services under the Village Infrastructure Project (VIP)for the Training of Groups and Associations in Group Dynamics. The programme was funded by the World Bank for the period (2002 – 2003).

Pentax delivered a paper on the Principles of Management for Entrepreneurs Ghana under a “Practitioners Forum on Entrepreneurship”organized by Ghana Institute of Management & Public Administration (GIMPA), Accra, Ghana. The forum was attended by key members and stakeholders as well as management practitioners and Consultants in Ghana and outside. (2001).

(A postgraduate Management Programme certified by Nottingham Trent University, UK) in partnership with Financial Times Management, U.K. A Nottingham Trent accredited Postgraduate Management Programme run by Financial Times Knowledge (U.K) on behalf of Standard Chartered Bank PLC for selected staff in Standard Chartered Bank Ghana.
